Debut Album from former Eighties Matchbox and Neils Children men Vile Imbeciles. Described as dissasembling rock n roll by Kerrang and the NME, rather impenetrably, suggest it's like 'A gang of angry Punk Rock Orcs smashing up a studio with the severed limbs of goth serial killers'. As Kerrang say 'You'll either love it or...' well, not. No middle ground here.

Fanfarlo's third single (the two previous released by Fortuna Pop and Club Fandango) is the first not recorded at home by singer Simon Aurell. Having decided to venture studio-ward they pulled one of their best pop songs out and here we are. Praise from David Bowie(!), Steve Lamacq and Mark Riley is just the start...

Limited to just 500 copies on heavyweight black vinyl. Nice things being said everywhere & it was Number 2 on Rough Trade Shops Hot Items alongside MTV2 plays and big ups from all the usual suspects - "Demented indie pop, glitch ridden, highly charged with it's old school drum machine-d beats, there's the amped up melodies of Husker Du being fed through a broken processor possessed by Big Black being harnessed into one superb piece of rock n roll… Genius!"

OPE 016 The Low Miffs - Also Sprach Shareholder
"a vaudeville Roxy Music heaving with sax passion" said Playlouder and they're certainly close. Also Sprach Shareholder, "surely one of the best song titles of the year" and backed with the brechtian 'Where are your Songs Now' proves that an unhealthy obsession with both the past, its culture and a strange ability to actually play all their instruments might have allowed the Low Miffs to create one of the songs of the year to go with the title.

Read along with Comanechi! It’s The Comanechi Storyteller Seven Inch. Read and sing along with Akiko, Simon and Tim (Part Chimp) as they tell you the tale of Akiko¹s first love: ‘My Pussy’. All recorded live in Tim’s Gimp Cellar. This Gatefold seven comes with the aforementioned, plus exclusive b-side ‘2 Tea Bags’ and the book written and illustrated by Akiko. OPE 013 Comanechi - Comanechi/Time - Secret/Legions
Secret is the heaviest you'll have heard Comanechi - coming in with a squall of distorted screaming then a guitar guitar riff you might describe as 'brutal'. Might be their best release to date. Time meanwhile are two of Trencher. THey dispense with the short, sharp formula of Casio Grind familiar from earlier work and make a full on, straight to four track, doom piece. Rough Trade said it best with this little gem: "we have been hassling white heat every week to release this record for over a year and now finally it's here. without doubt, the rotters (3 girls and a guy) have made the best single of the year - all three tracks are short but not sharp bursts of chaos. they band formed and played their first gig at white heat in the same week. already they have split up and all that's left is this single and an over used myspace site. they sound like a young polystrene fronting a shambolic huggy bear or shaggs. everyone should own this record - it's endearing and atrocious at the same time. limited to 500 copies."
